February 2014 still seems ages away, but here is an interesting event to add to your calendar. If you’re in London or planning to visit, the National Portrait Gallery will host David Bailey’s photography exhibit from Feb. 6 to June 1, 2014. Bailey is regarded as one of the most prominent British photographers, and he is well-known for his strong images. His camera captured many celebrities, from Jean Shrimpton to Mick Jagger, from Catherine Deneuve to Kate Moss.
“Bailey’s Stardust” will feature a selection of 250 images by the photographer himself. It will also include some previously unpublished photographs spanning 50 years of Baileys work. It’s a fitting tribute for a man who captured the spirit of the 60s.
The exhibit runs from Feb. 6 to June 1, 2014.

Marla: I visited David Bailey’s East End exhibition last year. It was highly recommended by a friend and I didn’t regret going. I’ll have to mark my calendar for this event too. Thanks! September 19, 2013 at 12:25pm
Victoria: I love his work from the Sixties. Really, he seems like such a fascinating character, and I love when artists get an opportunity to curate their own exhibitions. September 19, 2013 at 12:37pm
sara: first photo of kate moss when i find her beautiful. September 19, 2013 at 1:19pm
Victoria: It’s striking with that lion mane of hair! September 19, 2013 at 3:14pm
Dominique: Ditto. I never understood the Kate Moss obsession in the 90s. This photo is cool, though. September 19, 2013 at 4:05pm
Victoria: I liked her precisely because she wasn’t classically beautiful and not tall like an Amazone the way most other models are. September 20, 2013 at 2:42am
Lyn: Wasn’t he married to Jean Shrimpton? September 19, 2013 at 3:51pm
Victoria: They were only engaged, but he was married to Catherine Deneuve (among several other women!) September 20, 2013 at 2:38am
Dominique: Victoria, this is an off-topic question. Do you know where I can find Kenzo Jungle l’Elephante in the US? I used to wear it but now I can’t find it anywhere. Is it discontinued? September 19, 2013 at 4:04pm
Courant: FragranceX, if you are willing to buy online September 19, 2013 at 5:17pm
Victoria: I second Courant’s recommendation. It’s definitely not discontinued, but it may not be sold in the US anymore. It’s available easily in Europe though. September 20, 2013 at 2:39am
minette: i love kate moss. every time i see her, i want to stop and look at her. something about the wandering eye, the bones and the spirit. just always interesting. not the most “beautiful” in the world, but i’d take fascinating and interesting over beautiful any day. September 19, 2013 at 4:58pm
Victoria: There is something haunting about her beauty to me, I’m not sure what exactly. It’s very memorable though. September 20, 2013 at 4:09am
